IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:
Please create a backup of your world before proceeding with this update. While this update has most of the bug fixes resolved, we still would suggest creating a local backup. Once updated, you will not be able to revert back to an older build. If your unsure how to create a backup of your world, please download the world folder using FileZilla, we have a tutorial on how to connect here.
How do i update my existing Minecraft server to PaperMC 1.16.2?
- First, stop your server completely.
2. Download the 1.16.2 server jar file from https://papermc.io/downloads (Its usually the top download link, and should read 1.16.2 Release)
3. Once downloaded, rename the file to "server.jar". Then visit "File Manager" in your control panel, delete the existing 'Server.jar' file,
4. After deleting the old server.jar file, upload the new one you have just downloaded and renamed!
Note - the progress bar will turn green once this file has been uploaded.
5. Once uploaded, just give the server a restart! Congratulations, your server is now running PaperMC 1.16.2.
Please note updates to these jar files are releases every so often, so its worthwhile checking to ensure you have the latest build.
